by Glorence Lorence

American audiences really appreciate a good movie. There are many recently released movies that continue to top the charts week after week and are a must-watch for all movie lovers. Now that movies are available online, some movies that were released even last year continue to be watched with the help of ‘free movies online’ sites.

Family movies are the best bet for this summer season. Harry Potter series, High School Musical series, Holes, Wall-E and Aladdin are some of the best movies to catch up during this summer holidays. Comedy movies are a treat to watch anytime during the year. Some comedy movies that are currently very popular are Sex and the city, Pineapple express, American Pie and 17 again.

Romantic movies have their own niche audiences. Young Americans always prefer romantic comedies and some movies that are still popular for their excellent screenplay and acting include Confessions of a Shopaholic, Bride Wars, The Reader, Slumdog Millionaire and 9 songs.

Horror movies also have their own set of audiences who vouch for it any season. The Haunting in the Connecticut, An American Haunting, The X-Files, 30 days of Night and 2012 Doomsday are movies that have all necessary ingredients to frighten us out of our seats.

Come summer and it’s a season to head for beaches, pools and the hills. Wherever we go, Internet has enabled easy viewing of all these popular movies. Watching movies online has enabled us to stay indoors instead of hunting for our favorite ones in DVD libraries. Watch movies online this summer and chill out!

Why Are Piano Lessons A Great Choice For Your Child?
by James Franczek

If you've been trying to decide if piano lessons are right for your child consider this.

Piano lessons can be one of the most rewarding experiences you give your child. There are countless studies that have shown the emotional, and intellectual benefits of taking music lessons at any age. Here are a few reasons why piano lessons specifically are great for children.

1) Piano lessons are perfect for young children: Many instruments other than the piano can be too heavy, need a great deal of coordination, and sometime need more air than the smaller body can produce. The piano however is a little easier to manage. When you push the keys down the note is already in tune and sounds good. This means that there is in instant reward.

2) Family time; It's no secret that in order to excel at anything it takes practice. This can mean more family time. Spending that 15 to 20 minutes per day listening to, and encouraging your children to practice will create long lasting memories. 20 minutes per day X 5 days per week means over 85 extra hours per year spent with your kids.

3) Piano lessons are great for setting goals; When students are preparing for regular recitals or exams they are constantly working towards specific goals. When they have an end result in mind they are more likely to work harder to achieve that goal.

Writing a News Story on the Web? 15 Tips to Make Your Story Shine
by J. Doyle

With millions of people reading news online, there is still no clear style to news writing on the web. While some traditional news writing tips work with online writing, some additional factors have emerged that can help make a story receive traffic and become popular. Here is a list of some traditional tips and web-specific tips that currently work for successful online news writing:

1. Write short sentences and paragraphs and take out unnecessary words since newspaper writing is more about getting information to readers quickly.

2. Check and double-check your facts and spell names correctly since an inaccurate piece can ruin a writer's credibility.

3. Grab the reader's attention with a strong lead to make the reader want to continue.

4. Have one idea for each sentence.

5. Add images, audio, or video to complement your story.

6. Focus on the reader and figure out what questions he or she would like answered.

7. Talk to experts in a particular field for ideas on important aspects deserving discussion.

8. Try to speak with people on both sides of the issue and include them in the story.

9. Consider using bullets and lists since readers on the web tend to scan information.

10. Keep headlines clear since readers can lose respect if the article does not provide the expected information.

11. Read the story out loud to see if it flows and rewrite long or complicated sentences.

12. Link to related stories, which can help readers get additional information without you having to repeat past information.

13. Discuss the human side of the story by offering quotes or something personal of an affected individual

14. Use active voice and avoid passive verbs and run-on sentences.

15. Consider adding humor to the story (depending on the piece) since this can be more acceptable on the web.

I hope these tips help you receive more traffic and readers!
